This specimen was lot 32860 in Heritage sale 3064 (Chicago, April 2018), where it sold for $432. The catalog description<sup>[1]</sup> noted, "[[Germany]], Cologne. Josef Clemens Taler 1700-NL VF35 NGC, Deutz mint. A scarce Taler with incredible artistic design, featuring a crowned double-eagle on the obverse and a reverse with a helmeted coat of arms held jointly by lion and griffin. Amber and blue iridescent toning only adds further to the appeal of this offering." Thalers were issued both by the archbishop and the free city; all are rare from this period. This type is listed for 1699-1700.
