This specimen was lot 1700 in Goldberg sale 106 (Los Angeles, September 2018), where it sold for $384. The catalog description<sup>[1]</sup> noted, "China. 100 Yuan, 2005. Panda cub and mom seated in bamboo. NGC graded MS-69." The Chinese government has, since the mid 1980's, produced a mind boggling array of bullion related collectibles. The gold panda is one of the most popular. Prior to 2001, the quarter ounce panda was denominated 25 yuan. The Chinese government issued twelve different panda coins in 2005, as follows:

* KM A1580: 10,000 yuan, 1 kilogram gold;
* KM 1581: 2,000 yuan, 5 oz gold;

* KM 1587: 300 yuan, 1 kilogram silver;
* KM 1588: 50 yuan, 5 oz silver;
* KM 1589: 10 yuan, 1 oz silver;
* [[China 2005 100 yuan KM-1590|KM 1590]]: 100 yuan, ½ oz palladium;
* KM 1591: 100 yuan, 1/10 oz platinum.
