This specimen was lot 55534 in Stack's Bowers ANA sale (Pittsburgh, PA, August 2023), where it sold for $192. The catalog description<sup>[1]</sup> noted, "[[Germany|GERMANY]]. Brunswick-Luneburg: [[German States, Brunswick-Wolfenbuttel|Brunswick]]. 24 Mariengroschen, 1748-IBH. Zellerfeld Mint. Karl I. PCGS AU-58. From the Robert C. Knepper Collection." This type was struck 1735-80 for Karl I and is common. Twenty-four mariengroschen made two-thirds of a thaler or a gulden. Another gulden of this reign featured the leaping stallion reverse ([[Brunswick-Wolfenbuttel 1765-IAP 24 mariengroschen KM-895|KM 895]]), altho it was not struck every year. Mintmaster IBH appears 1739-62.
