This specimen was lot 5155 in Künker sale 386 (Osnabrück, March 2023), where it sold for €525 (about US$679 including buyer's fees). The catalog description<sup>[1]</sup> noted, <blockquote>"''BRAUNSCHWEIG-CALENBERG-HANNOVER, Johann Friedrich, 1665-1679. Reichstaler 1667, Zellerfeld. Hübsche Patina, sehr schön-vorzüglich. Die Rückseite des vorliegenden Stückes zeigt eine ungewöhnliche Darstellung der Tanne, ohne Zweige oder Geäst.'' (duchy of [[German States, Brunswick-Luneburg|Brunswick-Luneburg-Calenberg]], John Frederick, 1665-79, thaler of 1667, Zellerfeld mint. Handsome patina, very fine to extremely fine. The reverse of the present piece shows an unusual representation of the fir tree, without twigs or branches.)"</blockquote> Christian Ludwig was duke in Calenberg 1641-48 and in Celle 1648-65. His younger brother Georg Wilhelm was duke in Calenberg 1648-65 and in Celle 1665-1705. The last brother, Ernst August, was duke in Calenberg 1679-98 and elector of Hannover 1692-98. Ernst August's son George inherited Calenberg and Hannover in 1698, Celle in 1705 and the throne of Great Britain in 1714. This is one of nine different thalers from this state dated 1667:
