Shown is a copper-nickel 100 réis of the United States of [[Brazil]]. Much scarcer in nice condition than the SCWC indicates, even tho the type was struck 1889 and 1893-1900. The 100 réis gradually shrank (KM 503, KM 518, KM 527, KM 536 and KM 544) until its abolition in 1942 with the reform of the coinage in that year.
