This specimen was lot 487 in Jean Elsen sale 140 (Brussels, March 2019), where it sold for €175 (about US$233 including buyer's fees). The catalog description<sup>[1]</sup> noted, <blockquote>"''BOUILLON ET SEDAN, Godefroid-Maurice de la Tour d'Auvergne (1652-1721), Cu liard de Bouillon, 1681. D/ Ecu couronné, écartelé de La Tour en 1 et 4, Boulogne en 2 et Turenne en 3. R/ Inscription en quatre lignes. En dessous, un lis entre deux tours. Rare. Très Beau.'' (county of Bouillon and Sedan, Godfrey de la Tour d'Auvergne, 1652-1721, copper liard of 1681. Obverse: crowned arms of de la Tour, Boulogne and Turenne; reverse: four line inscription, lily below between two towers. Rare, Very Fine.)"</blockquote> The SCWC lists this duchy under French states as the area was annexed by Louis XIV in 1678 and permanently added to [[France]] but we list this with the [[Austria, Austria-Netherlands|Bishopric of Liege]] which had suzerainty in the early 1600's. This type was accompanied by a copper two liards (KM 43).
