This specimen was lot 843 in Jean Elsen sale 126 (Brussels, September 2015), where it sold for €120 (about US$160 including buyer's fees). The catalog description<sup>[1]</sup> noted, <blockquote>"''BELGIQUE, Royaume, Léopold II (1865-1909), Cupro-nickel 10 centiemen, 1901-NL. Type BRAEMT. Rare Superbe.'' (kingdom of Belgium, Leopold II (1865-1909), copper-nickel ten centiemen of 1901, Dutch legends. Rare, extremely fine.)"</blockquote> This coin, one of a type struck 1894-98 and 1901 during the reign of Leopold III of Belgium (1865-1909), was struck with Walloons (dialect of French) and Flemish (dialect of Dutch) legends. The Flemish legend type is shown here; it is not rare, tho the 1901 is scarce. The French legend type is rare for 1901 but the [[Belgium 1898 10 centimes|1898 10 centimes]] is common.
