This specimen was lot 6051 in Künker sale 386 (Osnabrück, March 2023), where it sold for €1,100 (about US$1,422 including buyer's fees). The catalog description<sup>[1]</sup> noted, <blockquote>"''BADEN-DURLACH, MARKGRAFSCHAFT, SEIT 1803 KURFÜRST, Karl Leopold Friedrich, 1830-1852. Dukat 1851. Rheingold. GOLD. Nur 1.280 Exemplare geprägt. Leicht gewellt, kl. Kratzer, etwas berieben, sehr schön.'' ([[German States, Baden-Durlach|grand duchy of Baden]], Charles Leopold Frederick, 1830-52, ducat of 1851, made from Rhine river gold. Only 1,280 struck, slightly wavy, light hairlines, has been cleaned, very fine.)"</blockquote> This type was struck 1847-52; all dates are rare.
