This specimen was lot 1609 in Sincona sale 22 (Zürich, May 2015), where it sold for 1,200 CHF (about US$1,507 including buyer's fees). The catalog description<sup>[1]</sup> noted, <blockquote>"''Paderborn, Bistum, Franz Arnold von Wolff-Metternich, 1704-1718 Taler 1710. Münster Fast vorzüglich.'' ([[Germany]], bishopric of Paderborn, Franz Arnold von Wolff-Metternich (1704-18), thaler of 1710, Munster mint, choice extremely fine.)"</blockquote> This rare type is listed for 1709-11. The bishop of Paderborn was suffragan to the bishop of Munster (Franz Arnold was also bishop of Munster) but still managed to issue a few coins for his domain. The bishopric was annexed to Prussia in 1803, during Napoleon's reorganization of Germany.
