This specimen was lot 4218 in Sincona sale 34 (Zurich, October 2016), where it sold for 650 CHF (about US$772 including buyer's fees). The catalog description<sup>[1]</sup> noted, <blockquote>"''HOLY ROMAN EMPIRE - [[Austria|AUSTRIA]]. Ferdinand III. 1637-1657 Taler 1642. Joachimsthal Münzmeister David Knobloch. Selten. Sehr schön. Henkelspur.'' (Holy Roman Empire, Ferdinand III, 1637-57, thaler of 1642, Joachimsthal mint, mintmaster David Knobloch. Rare, Very fine, mount removed.)"</blockquote> The SCWC lists this type of 1639-43 as rather scarce but not rare. A similar type was issued from Kuttenberg ([[Bohemia 1638 thaler Dav-3212|Dav-3212]]).
