This specimen was lot 909 in Sincona sale 46 (Zurich, May 2018), where it did not sell. The catalog description<sup>[1]</sup> noted, <blockquote>"''SPANIEN, Königreich, Carlos IV. 1788-1808. 2 Escudos 1803, CN-Sevilla. Sehr schön.'' (kingdom of [[Spain]], Charles IV, 1788-1808, two escudos of 1803, Seville mint. Very fine.)"</blockquote> This type was struck 1788-1808 at Madrid and Seville. It is the most common Spanish gold coin of the old (reales/escudos) system.
