This specimen was lot 33948 in Heritage sale 3076 (Long Beach, CA, September 2019), where it sold for $420. The catalog description<sup>[1]</sup> noted, "[[Germany]]: [[Germany, Weimar Republic (1918-1933)|Weimar Republic]] Proof 2 Pfennig 1924-A PR65+ Red PCGS, Berlin mint. The only example of this denomination we have been able to locate in Proof format, suggesting a rather notable rarity with the series, and one which borders on technical perfection." This type was struck 1923-24 and overlapped the 2 reichspfennig (KM 38) of 1924-29, which used a very similar design.
