This specimen was lot 36529 in Stack's Bowers ANA sale (Chicago, August 2022), where it sold for $456. The catalog description<sup>[1]</sup> noted, "[[Great Britain, Scotland|SCOTLAND]]. 12 Shillings, ND (1637-42). Charles I. PCGS EF-40. Tied for the finest example at PCGS." Numerous varieties of this denomination were struck during this period ([[Scotland (1637-42) 12 shillings KM-82|KM 82]], [[Scotland (1637-42) 12 shillings KM-83|83]], 84, [[Scotland (1637-42)-F 12 shillings KM-85|85]], 86). KM A84 has "F" above the crown; this one has an "F" and a thistle.
