This specimen was lot 870 in Jean Elsen sale 159 (Brussels, June 2024), where it sold for €900 (about US$1,156 including buyer's fees). The catalog description<sup>[1]</sup> noted, <blockquote>"''BRABANT, Duché, François II (1792-1797), AR couronne, 1794, Bruxelles. D/ T. laurée à d. R/ Croix de Bourgogne entre trois couronnes, ornée du bijou de la Toison d'or. Petit coup sur la tranche. Légères traces d'ajustage. Très Beau à Superbe/Superbe.'' ([[Austria, Austria-Netherlands|duchy of Brabant]], Francis II, 1792-97, silver crown thaler of 1794, Brussels mint. Obverse: laureate bust right; reverse: Burgundian cross between three crowns, adorned with the jewel of the Golden Fleece. Small rim nick, very fine to extremely fine.)"</blockquote> This is the last kronenthaler struck by the Hapsburgs in and for Belgium, which was invaded, occupied and annexed by revolutionary France in 1794. Others are known from Vienna ([[Austria 1794-A kronenthaler Dav-1180|mintmark "A"]]), Kremnitz ([[Hungary 1793-B kronenthaler Dav-1180|mintmark "B"]]), Prague (mintmark "C"), Karlsburg (mintmark "E"), Hall (mintmark "F"), Nagybanya (mintmark "G"), Günzburg (mintmark "H") and [[Milan 1794-M crocione Dav-1390|Milan (mintmark "M")]] but none actually made in Brussels except for this issue. Four liards = one sol, 54 sols = one [[Austria 1793-A kronenthaler Dav-1180|kronenthaler]].
