This specimen was lot 2737 in Sincona sale 57 (Zurich, May 2019), where it sold for 200 CHF (about US$238 including buyer's fees). The catalog description<sup>[1]</sup> noted, <blockquote>"''DEUTSCHLAND | Schlesien-Münsterberg-Oels, Herzogtum, Heinrich Wenceslas und Karl Friedrich, 1617-1639. 24 Kreuzer 1622, Öls. Fast FDC. Überdurchschnittliche Erhaltung.'' ([[Germany]], duchy of Silesia-Munsterberg-Oels, Henry Wenceslas and Charles Frederick, 1617-39, 24 kreuzer of 1622, Oels mint. About uncirculated, Extraordinary condition.)"</blockquote>
This rare 24 kreuzer was minted 1621-23 only. The shortsighted overissue of kipper coinage created a brief inflationary bubble in Germany 1619-24. After it burst, the debased coinage was called in and melted, accounting for its rarity today. The coinage from this state ceased when the last of the local dukes died in 1647. Munsterberg passed to [[Austria]] while Oels passed to a junior branch of the duke of Württemberg, who resumed coinage in 1674.
