This specimen was lot 5069 in Künker sale 386 (Osnabrück, March 2023), where it sold for €320 (about US$414 including buyer's fees). The catalog description<sup>[1]</sup> noted, <blockquote>"''BRAUNSCHWEIG-WOLFENBÜTTEL, FÜRSTENTUM, Karl I. 1735-1780. 2/3 Taler 1740, Braunschweig. Feine Patina, leichter Doppelschlag, sehr schön-vorzüglich.'' ([[German States, Brunswick-Wolfenbuttel|duchy of Brunswick-Wolfenbuttel]], Charles I, 1735-80, two-thirds thaler of 1740, Brunswick mint. Fine patina, lightly double struck, very fine to extremely fine.)"</blockquote> This gulden was struck 1736-37 and 1740. It comes with (shown here) or without (KM 898) the value below the stallion. Both are scarce.
