This specimen was lot 5059 in Sincona sale 35 (Zurich, October 2016), where it sold for 9,500 CHF (about US$11,277 including buyer's fees). The catalog description<sup>[1]</sup> noted, <blockquote>"''Bern | Stadt, Doppeldukat 1600. Doppeladler über dem Berner Wappen. Rv. Der heilige Vincenz stehend von vorn. Sehr selten. Gutes vorzüglich. Kleiner Schrötlingsfehler.'' (city of Bern, double ducat of 1600. Obverse: double headed eagle supports city arms; reverse: St. Vincent stands. Very rare, Good extremely fine, Minor planchet defect.)"</blockquote> This rare one year type is accompanied by a single ducat ([[Bern 1600 ducat Fr-96|Fr-96]]) and half ducat (Fr-97). The next gold issue was in 1658 ([[Bern 1658 ducat Fr-123|Fr-123]]).
