This specimen was lot 3371 in Sincona sale 39 (Zurich, May 2017), where it sold for 600 CHF (about US$720 including buyer's fees). The catalog description<sup>[1]</sup> noted, <blockquote>"''Baden, Grossherzogtum, Friedrich I. 1852-1907 2 Mark 1906 G. Karlsruhe. Polierte Platte. FDC. NGC PF 63. Min. berührt.'' (grand duchy of Baden, Frederick I, 1852-1907, two mark of 1906, Karlsruhe mint. Choice Proof. Some hairlines.)"</blockquote> This type was struck 1902-07 and is common but this is a scarce date, as most of the 1906 issue was the wedding commemorative which, being saved, is very common.
