This specimen was lot 5790 in Künker sale 354 (Osnabruck, Germany, September 2021), where it sold for €1,700 (about US$2,366 including buyer's fees). The catalog description<sup>[1]</sup> noted, <blockquote>"''HENNEBERG, GRAFSCHAFT, Gemeinschaftlich sächsischer Anteil. Reichstaler 1700, Ilmenau. Ausbeute der Gruben in Ilmenau. Feine Patina, fast vorzüglich.'' ([[Germany]], county of Henneberg, joint Saxon rule, thaler of 1700, Ilmenau mint, for the Ilmenau mines. Fine patina, about extremely fine.)"</blockquote> The counts of Henneberg fell extinct in 1580, after which the county was co-ruled by various Saxon dukes. In this period, the rulers were [[German States, Saxe-Gotha|Saxe-Gotha]] and [[German States, Saxe-Weimar-Eisenach|Saxe-Weimar]].
