This specimen was lot 3854 in Sincona sale 9 (Zürich, October 2012), where it sold for 180 CHF (about US$228 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"DEUTSCHLAND Sachsen-Altenburg, Herzogtum Johann Philipp, Friedrich, Johann Wilhelm und Friedrich Wilhelm II., 1603-1625. Taler 1606, Saalfeld. Fast sehr schön-sehr schön. (Germany, duchy of Saxe-Altenburg, John Philip, Frederick, John William and Frederick William II, 1603-25, thaler of 1606, Saalfeld mint, very fine.)"
The SCWC lists many different thalers for Saxe-Altenburg. This type is noted from 1605-12 and is common.
