This specimen was lot 40275 in Stack's Bowers NYINC sale (New York, January 2019), where it sold for $13,200. The catalog description[1] noted, "A Stunningly Designed Double Ducat Issue, GERMANY. Wurzburg. 2 Ducat, ND (ca. 1719). Archbishop Johann Philipp Franz Graf von Schonborn (1719-24). NGC AU-50. Fr-3686; KM-265; Helmschrott-535. Reeded edge. 6.95 grams. Obverse: Bust of prelate right in elaborate robe and rabat right, titles around which include Bishop of Wurzburg and Duke of Eastern Franconia, the latter adopted as early as 1441; Reverse: Crowned lion passant holding naked sword and scales before city view, "PRO SECVRITATE ET IVSTITIA" (translated: "For Security and Justice") around. An impressively designed type, preserved in wholesome circulated quality, with only soft friction on the highpoints and in the fields and choice color throughout. EXTREMELY RARE as an issue, this being one of only three examples known to us."
