This specimen was lot 33345 in Heritage sale 3064 (Chicago, April 2018), where it sold for $528. The catalog description[1] noted, "Tuscany. Ferdinand I Piastre 1594 XF40 NGC, Dav-8389. A lovely Piastre type from the reign of Ferdinand I with aged obverse toning and lighter silver reverse toning and a striking dark amber color highlight at the bottom. Light adjustment marks are noted across the image of the reverse but do not impact eye appeal. A scarce chance to acquire this type!"
struck 1588-96. scarce but the most common piastra of Tuscany in the sixteenth c.
