This specimen was lot 31661 in Heritage sale 3049 (Long Beach, September 2016), where it did not sell. The catalog description[1] noted, "Joseph II gold 2 Ducat 1780 E-HS MS61 NGC, Karlsburg mint, KM 1869 (under Austria), Fr-191, Huszar-1832. A lightly handled piece as indicated by the grade, but lustrous overall with sharp details and very subtle tone."
listed for 1777-80, a better type. The Karlsburg mint is the only mint which struck double ducats using this uniformed bust of Joseph II. Single ducats are known from multiple mints.
