This specimen was lot 30265 in Heritage sale 3029 (New York, January 2014), where it sold for $14,100. The catalog description[1] noted, "Likely the Finest Known for the Type Carl XI 8 Marks 1665, Stockholm mint, KM 252, SM-54 (Rare), Dav-4530, MS63 NGC. An absolutely incredible example with aged silvery-gray patina and flashes of luster in the legends. The obverse features a laureate bust of the King with long flowing wig while the reverse displays the crowned coat of arms and the denomination in Roman numerals. An exciting offering which should appeal to collectors of Sweden and world crowns. We doubt that a finer piece could exist. "
