This specimen was lot 20663 in Stack's Bowers ANA sale (Chicago, August 2019), where it sold for $6,600. The catalog description[1] noted,

"Intricately Designed Mining Taler of Stolberg-Stolberg. GERMANY. Stolberg-Stolberg. Taler, 1700. Christof Ludwig I. NGC MS-61. Dav-7791; KM-102. Mining Taler type. Obverse: God sheds His light on a mining scene while the Stolberg stag preens on a hilltop; Reverse: Baroque triple-helmeted arms. A RARE Taler type that showcases one of the most intricate designs on a coin of its period. In addition to its significant rarity, seeming to appear at auction at a rate around one piece per year world-wide, this example is easily among the finest we have seen. No wear is evident as the grade suggests and original luster shows in the fields without any unsightly instances of accompanying handling. A bold strike has also conveyed the all-important mining scene in impressive clarify. On the reverse, a touch of softness is visible on the shield, and some broader doubling exists in the legends, but the overall influence on the eye-appeal is small. An ideal coin overall for the collector who loves German Talers, but also assigns elevated desirability to types that illustrate pictorial, artistic designs."
