This specimen was lot 32224 in Heritage sale 3041 (Chicago, August 2015), where it did not sell. The catalog description[1] noted, "Stolberg-Stolberg. Christof Friedrich & Jost Christian Taler 1719-IIG MS62 NGC, KM 171, Dav-2800. An ideal representative of this one-year type, featuring the conjoined busts of Christof Friedrich and Jost Christian with rays falling down upon clasped hands. Both the obverse and reverse present beautifully patinated surfaces and an impressive amount of original mint bloom coats the fields. Even without magnification, the impeccably-styled design elements are noticeably bold. An altogether superior selection that managed to escape the pitfalls of handling, currently the only certified example of this one-year type, and highly-engaging as such."
