This specimen was lot 952 in Classical Numismatic Group's sale of the Lissner Collection (Chicago, July 2014), where it sold for $__. The catalog description[1] noted, "SPAIN, Reino de España. Isabel II. 1833-1868. AR 20 Reales (36mm, 26.16 g, 12h). Decimal real coinage. Madrid mint; im: 6 pointed star. Dated 1852. KM 593.2. In NGC encapsulation graded MS 64 WINGS APPROVED. Wonderful lustrous multicolored patina. Superb eye appeal. The finest we have seen for type. Possibly struck from proof dies. Highest graded for the type and the only one graded for the date. Purchased from Joe Elliott, October 1969 (an old friend and a long time playboy, as I’m sure he would want to be remembered)."
