This specimen was lot 39167 in Stack's Bowers Winter sale (Baltimore, November 2015), where it sold for $499.38. The catalog description[1] noted, "GERMANY. Saxe-Altenburg. Taler, 1641-EFS. Coburg Mint. Friedrich Wilhelm II (1639-69). NGC VF-30. KM-383; Dav-7401. Evidently a much more scarce type than Dav-7398 which appears in auctions with some frequency. The coin represented here has a portrait with sword shank extending upward into the portrait instead of to the right. Reverse shield is also larger and far more ornate than in the more common variety. An impressive example of the issue by any measure, with just enough tone to really bring-out the extensive detail in the portrait and coat of arms. Sharp strike and generally well made, a real treat for the collector of 17th century German Talers."
