This specimen was lot 25190 in Heritage sale 3026 (Long Beach, October 2013), where it sold for $7,050. The catalog description[1] noted, "Sardinia. Carlo Emanuele I gold Doppia 1581, Fr-1049, MS61 NGC, a gorgeous example with well-struck features and fully lustrous surfaces. The obverse features a bust of Carlo wearing a high collar and the reverse shows the coat of arms. Rare and most desirable in this pleasing quality."
