This specimen was lot 30103 in Heritage sale 3042 (Long Beach, September 2015), where it sold for $3,525. The catalog description[1] noted, "Sardinia. Vittorio Emanuele II 5 Lire 1850 (Anchor)-P MS63 NGC, Genoa mint, Giuseppe Ferraris as diecutter, KM144.2, MIR-1057a (R). A true standout survivor of this scarce issue. Light, golden tone blankets lustrous surfaces with few contact marks. Light cabinet friction is noted, but does not stand out without the aid of a glass. Very rare in this exceptional state of preservation and worthy of the finest collections of the House of Savoy."
m. 720,637--highest mintage date but still scarce. issued by Genoa 1850-89 and Turin 1850-61.
