This specimen was lot 21387 in Stack's Bowers ANA sale (Anaheim, CA, August 2016), where it sold for $3,525. The catalog description[1] noted, "RUSSIA. 1/2 Ruble (Poltina), 1736. Kadashevsky Mint (Moscow). Anna Ivanovna (1730-40). PCGS AU-58 Secure Holder. KM-196; Bit-165. Crosses on crowns, ornate cross on orb. The finest graded at PCGS. A well fabricated piece struck on a high quality near flawless flan and with a great strike. A trace of wear can not offset the advantages of being so well made at the start, with all of the detail in the devices defined, and sharp crisp legends. A wonderful piece with light tone and attractive subdued luster that should find many admirers." 12.93 g, .802 fine silver, type issued 1734-37. VF $650.
