This specimen was lot 31617 in Heritage sale 3064 (Chicago, April 2018), where it sold for $2,880. The catalog description[1] noted, "Nicholas II gold 5 Roubles 1897-AГ MS67 NGC, St. Petersburg mint, KM Y62, Bit-18 (large head variety?). Obv. Head of Nicholas Ii left. Rev. Crowned double-headed eagle with date and value. Brilliant golden mint luster, with sharply defined features and no significant flaws. A scarce variety of this conditionally rare issue. No examples have been certified finer than MS67."
struck 1897-1911, m. 5,372,000, a very common date. 4.3 g, .900 fine gold.
