This specimen was lot 20526 in Stack's Bowers ANA sale (Anaheim, CA, August 2016), where it sold for $3,290. The catalog description[1] noted, "GERMANY. Regensburg. Ducat, ND. Josef II (1765-90). PCGS AU-58 Secure Holder. Fr-2564; KM-388; Beck-453. The only example seen at PCGS with two finer at NGC. Sensational prooflike fields, especially within the protected areas of the legends, with just enough luster breaks on the portrait to land the coin in an Almost Uncirculated grade. The reverse city view could pass for full mint state. Choice bright untoned gold color and minor flan waviness consistent with the era the coin was produced in. For collections missing city view coinage in gold, the perfect opportunity to close the gap."
