This specimen was lot 335 in Künker sale 293 (Osnabruck, Germany, July 2017), where it sold for €3,800 (about US$5,122 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"PREUSSEN, KÖNIGREICH Friedrich II. der Große, 1740-1786. Speciestaler 1741, EGN, Berlin. 29.19 g. Variante mit großem Ordenskreuz. Dav. 2581; Old. 1; Kluge 23.1. RR Feiner Prägeglanz, winz. Schrötlingsfehler am Rand, sehr schön-vorzüglich/vorzüglich. (kingdom of Prussia, Frederick II (the Great), 1740-86, specie thaler of 1741, Berlin mint, with large cross. Rare, fine luster, minor edge defects, very fine to extremely fine.)"
KM 232, XF $7,500. first thaler of Frederick the Great. only thaler between Dav-2577 (1727) and Dav-2582 (1750). note large order cross.
