This specimen was lot 30338 in Heritage sale 3042 (Long Beach, September 2015), where it did not sell. The catalog description[1] noted, "Pedro II gold 4000 Reis 1702 UNC Details (Surface Hairlines) NGC, Lisbon mint, KM156, Fr-76, Gomes-33.12. Hairlines are mostly visible around the cross, but the eye-appeal remains exceptionally strong, with bright, reflective surfaces and a sharp strike that renders the dentilation coarse and centers bold. Even with the hairlines, quite possibly the finest extant of this very rare date."
