This specimen was lot 30377 in Heritage sale 3040 (Chicago, April 2015), where it sold for $1,292.50. The catalog description[1] noted, "August III of Saxony Taler 1755-EDC AU55 NGC, Dav-1617. Broad and attractive, featuring the bust of August III of Saxony with crowned arms in sprays and E.D.C. below. Quite attractive for the grade with lustrous champagne iridescence that washes over the surfaces giving them a warm glow. A scarce and highly popular type with the titles of August III as King of Poland."
