This specimen was lot 1110 in Künker sale 293 (Osnabruck, Germany, July 2017), where it sold for €2,200 (about US$2,965 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"PFALZ, KURFÜRSTENTUM, Karl Theodor, 1743-1799. Konv.-Taler 1777, Mannheim. Seltene Porträtvariante mit kleinerem Kopf. Dav. - (zu 2544); Haas - (zu 89); Slg. Memmesh. - (zu 2528). Selten in dieser Erhaltung. Prachtexemplar. Stempelglanz. (electorate of the palatinate, Charles Theodore, 1743-99, convention thaler of 1777, Mannheim mint. Rare vriety with small head; rare in this quality, proof example, uncirculated.)"
