This specimen was lot 1198 in Jean Elsen sale 116 (Brussels, March 2013), where it sold for 1,300 euro ($1,873 including buyers' fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"ALLEMAGNE, PALATINAT-SIMMERN-SPONHEIM, Richard (1569-1598), AV ducat, 1577, Simmern. Droit: RICHA D G C- PA- RHE DVX BA Le comte palatin debout de face, en armure, tenant son épée sur l'épaule. Revers: MO NO AVRE- SIMERENSIS Ecu écartelé de Palatinat-Bavière, entre 7-7. Ref.: Slg. Noss 299; Slg. Memmesheimer 2643; Fr-2051. 3,48g. Rare. Petit coup au droit. Superbe (Germany, County of Palatinate-Simmern-Sponheim, Richard (1569-98), gold ducat of 1577, Simmern mint. Obverse: armored figure standing, holding a sword, legend around; reverse: quartered arms of Pfalz and Bavaria divide "77". Rare, small edge bump, extremely fine.)"
