This specimen was lot 39548 in Stack's Bowers Winter sale (Baltimore, November 2015), where it sold for $822.50. The catalog description[1] noted, "PERU. 10 Soles, 1969. NGC MS-67. Fr-71; KM-236. VERY RARE. Mintage of just 100 pieces. Tied with one other piece for finest certified, with only a single coin graded at NGC and PCGS in any grade. Deeply mirrored fields produce a fabulous cameo effect. A piece that combines many of the most desirable attributes any collector could ask for in a RARE coin; low mintage, fabulous artistic qualities, and superlative preservation. This coin has all three!"
