This specimen was lot 31457 in Heritage sale 3064 (Chicago, April 2018), where it sold for $4,800. The catalog description[1] noted, "Philip V gold Cob 8 Escudos 1720/19 L-M XF - Polished, Mount Removed, Lima mint, KM 38.2. 32 mm/26.87 g. Nicely detailed and centered, however once set in jewelry with evidence of mount removal at 12 o'clock and surfaces that have been unnaturally brightened as a result. An affordable example of the type."
type struck 1710-46, all dates expensive. 27.07 g, .917 fine gold. m. 53,003. overdate not mentioned in the SCWC.
