This specimen was lot 25592 in Heritage sale 3032 (Chicago, April 2014), where it sold for $6,462.50. The catalog description[1] noted, "Palo Seco. Leper Colony Token 50 Cents ND (1919), KM-Tn5, MGM-704, XF40 NGC. An essentially unflawed example showing limited wear. Almost as rare as the Dollar denomination - 830 out of the original issue of 1,000 tokens were destroyed on September 28, 1955 - with less than fifteen examples currently known to the cataloger.
