This specimen was lot 23268 in Heritage sale 3030 (New York, January 2014), where it sold for $4,700. The catalog description^[1] noted, "Newfoundland. Victoria gold 2 Dollars 1882-H, Fr-1, KM 5, Specimen 58 PCGS. Obv. head of Victoria left. Rev. Date and value in beaded circle. Mirrored fields with lightly frosted devices, minor hairlines, and a hint of rubbing on the high points. An attractive example with more eye-appeal than one might expect of the grade. Extremely rare as a Specimen. From the collection of Donald E. Bently, sold for the benefit of the Bently Foundation."
