This specimen was lot 3244 in Stack's Bowers NYINC sale (New York, January 2017), where it sold for $19,975. The catalog description[1] noted, "NETHERLANDS. Utrecht. 2 Ducat, 1746. NGC PROOF-63. Fr-283; KM-42; Delm-962. VERY RARE proof striking and the only example of the type to be given such a designation. Bold devices stand in sharp relief over flashing reflective golden mirror surfaces. Some die brush lines are visible showing the special preparation before this piece was struck. No wear or detracting marks to be found and only a few light touches of toning near the rims. A thus far unparalleled piece and of the finest quality which can be offered. Ex: Stack's Sale of the Clifford T. Weihman Collection of Gold Coins of the World. October 18-20, 1951, Lot #479."
