This specimen was lot 3242 in Stack's Bowers NYINC sale (New York, January 2017), where it sold for $8,812.50. The catalog description[1] noted, "NETHERLANDS. Holland. Cavalier d'Or, 1608. NGC MS-62. Fr-251; KM-19; Delm-780. RARE. Large flan gold piece. Boldly struck with only a few small touches of weakness and leaving gleaming lustrous surfaces throughout. Lions and rider are quite sharp and attractive. Some mild toning in peripheries. No detracting marks or signs of handling making for a very attractive and desirable piece which is seldom offered. Erroneously designated as Utrecht on the NGC holder label."
