This specimen was lot 1538 in Jean Elsen sale 121 (Brussels, June 2014), where it sold for €__ (about US$__ including buyers' fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"NEDERLAND, Koninkrijk, Willem I (1815-1840), AR 2 1/2 gulden, 1840, Piedfort op dubbel gewicht. Sch-257a. 51,88 g. Uiterst Zeldzaam. Gepoetst, krasjes in het veld. Naslag van 1901 met ZIJ in plaats van ZY in het randschrift. Gepolijste stempel. (kingdom of the Netherlands, William I (1815-40), silver 2½ gulden of 1840, piefort of double weight. Extremely rare, proof.)"
