This specimen was lot 31215 in Heritage sale 3037 (New York, January 2015), where it sold for $18,800. The catalog description^[1] noted, "Naples & Sicily. Francesco I gold 30 Ducati 1826 MS63 NGC, KM 296, Fr-862. A fantastic two-year type with the most beautiful golden tone. This immense specimen delivers fully rendered details, with particular attention drawn to the stylistic border surrounding the edge. The surfaces contain ample mint luster that blooms upon rotation while the fields are nearly pristine with only a few negligible ticks. A coin that is scarce in any designation, but especially rare at this level of mint state. At present time, this example is the finest-known certified specimen for the issue and absolutely worthy of its assigned grade. From The Alexander Collection."
