This specimen was lot 71226 in Stack's Bowers Collector's Choice sale (Santa Ana, CA, May 2018), where it sold for $1,560. The catalog description[1] noted, "MEXICO. Escudo, 1834-DoRM. NGC MS-62. Fr-99; KM-379.1. SCARCE date. Only 3 examples graded at NGC, all in this grade, none at PCGS. Sharp strike with exemplary detail on both sides (the design intricacy on the snake and cactus are amazing) Warm orange toning throughout with strong underlying luster and quite good eye appeal."
