This specimen was lot 21203 in Stack's Bowers ANA Auction (Denver, CO, August 2017), where it did not sell. The catalog description[1] noted, "MEXICO. 4 Escudos, 1848-GCMP. NGC AU-53. Fr-71; KM-381.3. RARE mint and highly desirable. Well struck with moderate wear consistent with the grade. Lustrous with light attractive tone and quite good eye appeal. Seldom offered and quite the treat for the specialist of Republican Escudos."
