This specimen was lot 21234 in Stack's Bowers 2018 NYINC sale (New York, January 2018), where it sold for $1,560. The catalog description[1] noted, "MEXICO. Peso, 1870-PiS/A. NGC MS-61. KM-408.7. RARE date and the single finest certified by NGC or PCGS. Sharply struck with soft satin luster and just a light veneer of tone. A real prize for the advanced collector of this series. From the Alex Siegel Collection."
