This specimen was lot 31341 in Heritage sale 3064 (Chicago, April 2018), where it sold for $26,400. The catalog description[1] noted, "Philip V gold Cob 8 Escudos 1731 Mo-F AU55 NGC, Mexico City mint, KM 57.2, Cal-119. 29 mm/27 g. Another very rare late date onza of Philip V, set in vibrant orange-gold with some visible doubling from strike on the shield side, but a legible denomination, mintmark, assayer and four-digit date. While not mentioned in any reference that we know of, this piece also appears to have been struck from reworked dies, the date displaying a circular bulge (presumably on '0') beneath the final '1' in the date, in addition to what appears to be remnants of a 'G' under the assayer initial. On the reverse, the central cross is boldly struck, with the entire surrounding quadrilobe remaining on flan. This coin's usage as the plate coin for the date in La Onza as well as Catalogo de la Onza Española by Leopoldo Lopez-Chavez y Sanchez further increases its desirability. Selections from the Isaac Rudman Numismatic Cabinet."
